It was a commercial success, saw various DLCs, has a sizeable fanbase, and even developed itself into a game series with the release of a sequel in “Darkest Dungeon 2”. From first appearances, the game ticks a lot of boxes: A cool and distinct art style, an atmospheric soundtrack, interesting classes, and challenging fights in a dungeon crawler framework. However, at some point earlier this week, I managed to sit down and re-installed “Darkest Dungeon” with the explicit reason to write the article about it.
